Hello and Welcome
to MrColumbia
I have created the MrColumbia web site with three basic premises in mind.
The first 2 are history and bicycle identification. The third and main reason is to have
fun, for me and hopefully the reader as well. With this in mind navigation of the site has been kept relatively simple. Just find the subject
matter that interests you on the left side navigation bar and click to go to that page. You will find most
pictures and images are “clickable” and can be enlarged for better viewing.
There
is several pages of history and I add new ones as new material is found.
On the “Research
Material” page many Columbia catalogs from the 1980’s and 90’s are available in PDF format downloadable
for free. These are located near the bottom of the page. I hope those of you who are researching a later model Columbia
bike will take advantage of this. Please, download as many as you want. On the “What Year” page
can be found serial number and model year information to aid in bicycle identification.
As
I stated, having fun is a main reason for creating this site. As such, this is a hobby site and not commercial. I have had
offers to put on commercial advertising but have refused these. My goal is to keep this site clear of any
advertisements, pop-ups or banners. My hopes are this makes reading my site a more enjoyable experience. Maintaining the site
and finding new material to add to it does come with it’s expenses. One of the ways I help cover those costs is by selling
a few items of my own. On the “For Sale” page you will find a few bicycle parts or memorabilia.
On the “Stickers and Decals” page you will find many new old stock decals and stickers that may
aid in restoration projects. On the “Research Material” page I offer PDF copies of Columbia catalogs
for sale. I am constantly adding new titles to the list.
Once you have read it all, please keep
MrColumbia in your favorites. I am continually adding new pages as new ideas come to mind. I am also constantly adding new
pictures and information to existing pages as my research continues.
Finally, I welcome
your feedback. This is the only way I can continually improve the site. Pictures of your Pope/Westfield/Columbia bikes and
memorabilia are always of interest to me. If possible I will find a home for them on MrColumbia and will
credit you or add your story as you wish. In this way this is a site for everybody.
Thank
everybody for their continued support!
